“Attorney Cohen has provided extremely thorough advice and document preparation for me in the formative stages of my new integrative medical practice. He was easy to work with and meticulous in all matters large and small.”
—Alan Inglis, MD Integrative Health Solutions, Stockbridge, MA

“I never thought I'd meet an attorney I could actually have a real conversation with until I met Michael Cohen.  He's just got that human touch.  And when you combine that with his impeccable professional credentials you get magic!  Michael is the real deal.”
—Michelle Price, A Third Mind New Media

“We finally have some improved language in our massage therapy statutes. Many thanks for your help in moving us forward! You may recognize some of the language you offered us to use in our earlier communications with the Senator.”
Steve Kitts, Executive Director, Connecticut Center for Massage Therapy

“...Michael had a firm grasp of the legal, bureaucratic, and political aspects of the credentialing process. In negotiating my employment contract, Michael expertly navigated the complex considerations in bringing my established practice to an Integrative Health Care Center at a major medical institution, without compromising my scope of practice. I am grateful for his guidance. Michael continues to be a nuts-and-bolts visionary in the field of Integrative Medicine Law.”
Karen Erickson, D.C., founding Director of Chiropractic, The Continuum Center for Health and Healing, Beth Israel Medical Center, New York

“Michael is one of the most intelligent people you'll ever meet. Just look at his profile — multiple degrees, books, Harvard Professor, etc.!  You would never know this right away by his kind, and modest nature until you ask.  I see Michael frequently networking at events, going out of his way meeting with people and he is always there truly listening and thinking of YOU first. Trying to find out how he can first help YOU — before himself.  These are not qualities easily found today, especially at business mixers.  Meeting someone like this really motivates you to stay in touch and give your all to try and mirror his ways because I truly believe that ‘the more you give, the more you receive.’”
—Fred Cooper, Area Manager, New Business Development, AT&T

“For those of you who don't know Michael, he is a great teacher and resource for dealing with legal issues in a comprehensive approach. His energy is full of foresight, grounded and open. It is always a pleasure to have his company.”
Eric Parrott, LA Small Business Network

“I have nothing but the highest regard for Michael. He was forthright, honest and demonstrated a lot of integrity. He stayed within the bounds of our agreement with respect to costs and I know that he truly does support the practice of CAM. I would wholeheartedly give my recommendation to you.”
Ronald D. Whitmont, M.D.

“Michael is a superb business lawyer. His keen intellect and skillful instincts helped our company navigate the complex waters of international contracts. Michael's cogent, persuasive brief for our recent international mediation and arbitration was invaluable in securing our award. Michael is understanding, easy to work with. He gets the job done at competitive rates and with pleasing efficiency. We have confidence in him to handle our case; he gives valuable advice to the client.”
Annie Tsang and Gechen Wang, Silver Oasis Technology Limited (Hong Kong, Beijing, and Los Angeles

“What you have done has been quite thorough and helpful, and I believe I can rely on your advice to proceed in practice with confidence and care.”
Robert A. Pendergrast, Jr., M.D., M.P.H., Director, Aiken-Augusta Holistic Health

“I believe as CAM practice moves into this integrative phase, understanding legal, scope of practice, and professional identity issues more clearly is crucial. I've watched individual clinicians make their tenuous attempts at collaboration, and sometimes the result is very painful and difficult. Looking at CAM from a legal angle allows us to examine the boundaries in our society that contain what is going on in healthcare. THANK YOU for the scope of what you are doing and also the subtlety. There is so much more to safe practice than whether or not a person is a quack!”
—Lisa Yater, LCSW, BCIAC, Founder, Seek the Frontier Clinicians Network

“Our conversations and the work you did were very helpful. I needed a solid opinion on the issues, and you provided this. You also pointed to a wealth of very useful information by directing me to look at the Federation of State Medical Boards site. From there, I also learned that the American Medical Association had a whole ethics division which I spent many hours researching. That in turn gave me tons of information regarding the email consultation issue and website issues. The disclaimer you put together will also be helpful. Thank you.”
—GW, M.D., neurologist

“I was so inspired to see all that you do living consciously outside the corporate box! You are shining a bright light in areas that are in such need of more heart-based thinking.”
Carol Hink, Synergetic consultant, Flying Bridge 360

“Thank you for your help with the partnership. Both Jim and I think it is well written and covers our needs.”
Matthew Rackauckas, Chief Pilot, PrimeJet

On Books by Michael H. Cohen

“[Your book] Future Medicine contains a wealth of information.... It seems to have registered at a very deeep level as I began to experience lucid dreaming for the first time. Not only that, but it brought about a rise in awareness which I noticed by way of my responses to the interpretation of a few unrelated incidents over the three days. The only other book I have ever read that made a similar impact on me was The Celestine Prophecies.”

Success Stories
Global Vision Law Group's results include:

Disciplinary Actions

• We represented a licensed medical doctor who had chosen to limit his practice to complementary and alternative medicine in New York. We obtained dismissal of the disciplinary investigation initiated by the New York State medical board against him, and successfully argued that the physician legitimately practiced in a specialist role and was not required to fulfill a primary care function.

• We advised and wrote expert opinions for a national law firm in connection with representation of several physicians facing state medical board investigations in Texas. Each investigation was dismissed.

Integrative Medicine Centers, Medical Spas and Wellness Centers

• We have done the legal work to help launch numerous integrative medicine centers, medical spas, wellness centers, and other holistic health care clinics.

• We have also helped launch practices, advising practitioners from psychiatrists to energy healers, registered nurses, psychologists, medical doctors and doctors of osteopathy using a variety of modalities (including functional medicine and anti-aging therapies).

Institutional/Regulatory

• We advised a massage therapy educational regarding massage therapy and massage establishment regulation. Our advice became a basis for subsequent legislative action.

• We advised Harvard Medical International in a project based out of Dubai concerning integrative care, and helped establish the parameters for the project’s credentialing scheme.

• We advised several schools dedicated to holistic health techniques (including energy healing) on legal and regulatory issues for each school and its student and alumni population.

Contract Drafting and Review

• We drafted and negotiated an employment contract for a chiropractor to join a hospital’s integrative care center.

• We drafted and negotiated a number of key contracts for clients, including distribution agreements, consulting agreements, independent contractor agreements, and other critical agreements.

Manufacturers and Distributors of Cosmetics, Dietary Supplements, and Medical Devices

• We have advised several companies concerning claims and labeling for cosmetics, dietary supplement, homeopathic products, and medical devices.

Preventative Advice

• We also represent clients preventatively, since we believe that prevention is the best medicine in terms of aiming to create protection against potential liability risks.

• To date, none of the clients we have represented preventatively have later called us with a malpractice lawsuit, disciplinary or enforcement action, or other claim relating to their practice or project.
